Inter RAO, GE sign deal to boost local gas turbine production

MOSCOW, Sep 10 (PRIME) -- Power producer Inter RAO and General Electric (GE) have signed a partnership agreement to raise the share of local production of large-capacity gas turbines in Russia, Inter RAO said in a statement Thursday.

"The agreement envisages a significant rise of local competences, including through a transfer of the technologies and extension of the sphere of activities of joint venture Inter RAO and GE Russian Gas Turbines as a center of cutting-edge experience and the main production facility to produce GE gas turbine equipment in the region," Inter RAO said.

The companies plan to drive the share of local production of gas turbine 6F.03 to 100%, the company said.
